I Want a Hip Replacement

I Want a Hip Replacement

It is almost a year post-op from my second hip surgery.  November 30th will be my one year anniversary and is also the day that I see my surgeon.  My hip is still hurting so bad.  I HATE it.  I just want a hip replacement.  I have really been considering a replacement but have not met with any serious doctors about it.  Just one doctor who said it is not an option at my age.

I see my surgeon in just over a month.  I am guessing that he will recommend some sort of injection.  I am NOT doing another cortisone injection.  But, if it is a rooster comb or some sort of cartilage injection, I will probably do the injection.   Then I am guessing my surgeon will recommend another hip surgery to see if there is a soft tissue impingement and correct it.  I will try this surgery, then I will start thinking about a hip replacement.  I am tired of being is so much pain all the time.

I am in so much pain I can barely think and I am taking my pain killers more often.  It really sucks how limited I am.  I feel I am missing out on so many fun things and I am going to miss out on more fun things in the future.

  1. I had my left hip replaced in May and it feels great! My right still hurts and reminds me of what it used to be like on my left side. I know dr's arent quick to offer replacements to young patients, but its your body and your life. I would recommend a replacement. I, too, just wanted to feel less pain and get back to some "normal" things. If you have any questions at all about the surgery, please let me know. Good luck at your appointment!

  3. Hi,
I am Deepika from India. I had my right hip replaced 4 months back at the age of 27 years, and i dont regret the decision at all...my life had stopped due to pain, i have a 2 year old child and i went thru the surgery so that i can take care of him without help and sympathy from others. I think you dint meet the right doctor...its is definitely an option. Try with some other good surgeon.

    Regards,
    Deepika

    1. Thank you Deepika. I agree that I have not met the right doctor yet. I am also worried about when I do have kids how will I take care of them. Do you know what was wrong with your hip?

  5. Every person has its unique experiences with hip replacement. Lucky to those who were satisfied and happy but some patients weren't due to some complications and side effects brought by these devices. I had read more information from here

  6. A hernia is an opening or weakness in the muscular structure of the wall of the abdomen. This defect causes a bulging of the abdominal wall. This bulging is usually more noticeable when the abdominal muscles are tightened, thereby increasing the pressure in the abdomen. Any activities that increase intra-abdominal pressure can worsen a hernia; examples of such activities are lifting, coughing, or even straining to have a bowel movement.
